Podcasting

Pod casts could be used by libraries to let the public know what is happening at their local library as well as advising of latest release books etc available for loan. Libraries definitely need to market themselves better and this could be a cost efficient way of reaching a lot of people without too much extra effort.

Mashups

Mashups are probably a term which not too many people comprehend but actually utilise on a regular basis. I quite enjoyed the Then and Now: Historic New York images from New York Public Library using Flickr and Google Street view. How interesting to see how much New York has changed. And god knows where I'd be without Google maps
